Isabella Garaffa was born in Asuncion, Paraguay,   She now lives and creates her artwork in Snowmass Village, where she has been residing for the last many years.  Her most treasured childhood memories are directly connected to her strong passion for the wilderness, which is translated throughout her artwork in very intense detail. Seeing Aspen trees for the first time at the age of twenty two, gave her a fresh approach to recreate them in her studio in later years.

The artist's journey began with a quest to encapsulate the essence of the golden hour, that ephemeral time when day gracefully yields to dusk. Drawing from years of exploration and countless photographs, Garaffa sought to distill the essence of this magical hour into a single canvas.

As one gazes upon "Golden Hour on Tom Blake," the shifting tones of sunlight through Aspen trees evoke a sense of wonder and tranquility. Garaffa's brushstrokes mirror the dynamic interplay between light and perspective, inviting viewers to journey alongside her through a landscape bathed in celestial radiance.

In this painting, happiness radiates from every stroke—a testament to Garaffa's deep connection to the natural world. Through her art, she invites us to share in the joy of discovery, reminding us of the profound beauty that surrounds us, if only we pause to see it.

"The gold hues of late afternoon sunlights took a whole new meaning when I came to the mountains and started exploring this very special hour of the day on my mountain bike. There is really nothing quite like Tom Blake trail here in Snowmass that displays it better. I have taken so many pictures of this peculiar moment throughout these years but never found the one that could really encompass all that it means to me; a day coming to its end in all the glorious tones of the streets in heaven. As you slide through the pictures you will see how the sun peeking through the Aspen changes it's tone. That is my effort to mimic in my painting what the sun does in real life: when you move and as you move, your perspective changes. And consequently the interpretation of the light through your eyes change as well. I wish so much everyone could see this in real life, just because it makes so happy. This is just happy, happy, happy painting"
