In "Aspen Parallel Earth 2," Alea Pinar Du Pre invites us to explore an alternate reality where another Aspen exists on Parallel Earth. Here, amidst opulent wealth and arctic splendor, a striking young woman resides in an ice-bound mansion. Captured in a private, candid moment by her husband, she radiates mesmerizing beauty, embodying the essence of a trophy wife against a backdrop of rich textures and stark, high-contrast light. This image offers a glimpse into her privileged, exclusive life, evoking intimacy and allure.
Pinar Du Pre's work is deeply rooted in her fascination with the nature of reality and multidimensional universes, drawing inspiration from String Theory and M-Theory. Her curiosity about these theories fuels her artistic expression, as she aims to present new dimensions through her art. By co-creating with artificial intelligence, she opens doors to innovative perspectives, adding swirls and glitter—"space dust"—to her characters. This technique gives her paintings a fourth-dimensional appeal, blending traditional figurative painting with the dynamic elements of Optical Art.
In this series, Pinar Du Pre combines bold lines and geometric patterns of Op Art with her figurative portraiture, creating a dynamic visual effect that adds depth and playfulness. Her experimental approach and self-taught background allow her to constantly evolve her techniques, integrating new forms and concepts inspired by her readings and discoveries about the universe.
"We’re having a short view into that dimension, into her life,” Pinar Du Pre explains. Through this series, she captures the fleeting essence of another world, merging science and art to expand our understanding and imagination. Her work in "Aspen Parallel Earth 2" is a testament to her relentless pursuit of portraying the multifaceted nature of reality, inviting viewers to step into a new dimension and experience the extraordinary.
"Optical art, also known as Op Art, is a style of art that uses geometric shapes, lines, and color to create optical illusions that can create a sense of movement or depth. Figurative painting, my strong-hold, on the other hand, refers to - well - figures :-)
A few months ago, I started playing around and incorporate Op Art elements such as bold lines and geometric patterns into my figurative works. By doing so, my portraiture gained a dynamic visual effect that draws the viewer's eye and adds depth and a sense of ambiguity and playfulness."
