" Do you know what I have noticed recently? That things don't just change from night to morning. But when change does come, it can feel like sudden. Maybe that's because we try so hard to hold on to things that when they no longer can be held under the grasp of our control, it feels overwhelming and scary at times. I've been observing for many years now how the mountains prepare to let go of a season.
August is the month that brings the winds of colder weather and yellow leafs start popping up here and there. Wildflowers are still booming in the ground while Aspen trees are going through the process of preparation. To us it might seem like autumn arrives suddenly. But it really doesn't.
It starts to happen way before you even notice the subtle changes in color. I think the same happens in life when we find ourselves struggling to hold on to things that can no longer remain and need to fall to the soil of renewal. The idea of a new season where we have to learn how to navigate unknown waters scares us, and we want to have things just as they used to be. But here's the thing. The path of life that God offers is not an assurance to your happiness. Is better than that. It's an anchored hope in the ground of His steadfast love that sets your firm on the rock."

" This trail is filled with memories for me, as it is one of my favorite ones in the valley and is just steps away from my front door. So many of the paintings you see here on my feed were created from photos I took while hiking/running/ mtbiking/snowshoeing on this trail. On this particular scene, I remember what captivated me the most was the color of the leaves on top and the browns at the bottom. Together with that
"cream white" hue on the bark of the Aspen trees, it created this enchanting atmosphere of warmth. I lied there on the ground for almost two hours, taking it all in. And that's art for me; a medium through which a moment can last forever through the stamps of my paintbrush .
Thank God for the gift of art!"
