ISABELLA GARAFFA

Once again ISABELLA has saved the best til last!

Join us at the Aspen Art Gallery to experience Isabella Garaffa’s "Hunter Peak, Secret View; When Fall Meets Winter." a celebration of the extraordinary connection between nature and artistry.

We are thrilled to present Isabella Garaffa’s latest masterpiece, a stunning 60x72 painting that encapsulates the delicate interplay between autumn and winter. In this extraordinary work, Isabella invites viewers into a visceral experience of nature, crafting a scene that makes you feel as though you are standing amidst the vibrant aspens and soft snowfall.

Isabella's approach to art is deeply rooted in her belief in the viewer's innate ability to engage with their surroundings. Rather than overwhelming the canvas with every detail, she masterfully suggests just enough to ignite your imagination. She trusts that you have already felt the light filtering through the trees, heard the whispers of the forest, and breathed in the crisp mountain air. In her hands, you become the hero of the narrative—an active participant in bringing the scene to life through your own perception.

Isabella captures the essence of the landscape with an emotional depth that resonates far beyond the brushstrokes. “ I went back in my studio last night to finish this painting, it was 9 pm. I started painting , then suddenly I looked at the time and it was midnight. I continued painting like if I had all the energy in the world, and the next time I stopped recording with my phone and looked at the time it was 2:30 am. I sat down on my chair and looked at my finished work, and the first words that came out of my mouth were “ wow, this is crazy!”… I think I had an epiphany . I don’t think I had experienced something quite like this before. Beyond the fact that I am proud of what we accomplished, I felt something very deeply connected to whoever is the person who will own this. Or maybe will be someone who won’t necessarily buy it but will be deeply touched by it. I don’t know. I’m not sure how to explain it. Or maybe I was exhausted past breaking point! 🤣. Either way. This painting came from a very secret place in my heart. For me, this scene right here encompasses the absolute beauty of the mountains. Aspens trees in all its colors, snow on the ground, that beautiful red dirt road and the leafs … everywhere. Up high and on the ground. And, if you go get lost out there, you will see all these colors!!

ISABELLA GARAFFA

Isabella Garaffa’s journey from fashion design to painting is remarkable. Each piece she creates emerges from a secret place in her heart, reflecting her spiritual connection to the mountains that inspire her. In "Hunter Peak," she encapsulates not just a visual landscape but also an emotional experience—one that celebrates the beauty of nature and the viewer's own capacity to appreciate it.

As you explore this painting, we invite you to embrace the notion that you are enough—that your presence enriches the experience and completes the scene. "Hunter Peak" serves as a reminder that art is a collaborative journey between the artist and the observer, where your unique perspective adds depth to the narrative.

"September in the mountains is a moth of variations, in colors I mean. In the beginning of the month you start seeing subtle changes, but everything looks like is still green. Somewhere in the middle of it you see golden greens, ochres and yellows. And towards the end of the month everything turns into this glorious fall madness of autumn colors. And here in the mountains of Aspen Colorado, the Aspen trees are the main protagonist. I tried to capture on this painting just that. What September looks like when you are hiking out there in the woods. This painting was originated from a photograph I took on Government Tail a couple of years back, and now I brought it back to life!"

" This trail is filled with memories for me, as it is one of my favorite ones in the valley and is just steps away from my front door. So many of the paintings you see here on my feed were created from photos I took while hiking/running/ mtbiking/snowshoeing on this trail. On this particular scene, I remember what captivated me the most was the color of the leaves on top and the browns at the bottom. Together with that
"cream white" hue on the bark of the Aspen trees, it created this enchanting atmosphere of warmth. I lied there on the ground for almost two hours, taking it all in. And that's art for me; a medium through which a moment can last forever through the stamps of my paintbrush .
Thank God for the gift of art!"
