ISABELLA GARAFFA

We are thrilled to announce that Isabella Garaffa's highly anticipated Winter Collection is back on display at the Aspen Art Gallery! With her unique brand of elevated realism, Isabella has captivated audiences and shattered records, inviting viewers into the breathtaking beauty of the wilderness where Aspen trees stand as elegant protagonists.

In this collection, highlights include the stunning “When the Road is Closed Go Snowmobiling” (60x60 in., acrylic on canvas) and “Shades of Snow” (60x60 in., acrylic on canvas). Each piece serves as a visual journal, capturing the silent voice of the backwoods—one that sings the praises of creation with all its strength and passion.

Isabella expresses her commitment to portraying the wilderness not as mere scenery but as a narrative rich with history and emotion. “I want to paint the silent voice of the backwoods that screams out loud the beauty of His creator,” she explains. Her artwork stands as an archive for future generations, a testament to the splendor of Aspen trees and the landscapes that surround us.

"I had so much fun painting this. I am not sure how to explain all the good feelings it gave me, other than to say I’m beyond blessed to do for work what is my absolute passion: to show the world the beauty I see in God’s creation. Maybe you have seen a thousand other paintings of winter landscapes, but you never took this trail with me and saw this mountain from this angle at this exact time of the day with sky light up in a dimmed warm light. I hope you can tell what I felt when I painted this. My hands were frozen and so was the tip of my nose. But I couldn’t walk by this beautiful scene without taking a million pictures and memorizing in my mind every detail I knew my camera will not capture. All so I could bring you back here. In my favorite trail, looking at my favorite mountain. Snowmass."

" I took the original photo for this painting back in 2019, with an old iPhone 11.1 only had one shot of the view. But as I was scrolling through my photo album choosing my next painting, when I came across this I knew right away I had to paint it. I had to. So here it is.
You know what is one of my favorite things when I go out there to explore? Seeing the sign that lets me know I'm in a national forest area. It gives me comfort knowing that all the beauty I'm about to see will be protected for ages to come, and no human development will destroy it. That's a wonderful thing. Leave it the way you found it, right? I think this painting it's an expression of gratitude from my heart for all the forest rangers that take care of all these enchanted areas that we so profoundly cherish. And as always, this is an expression of absolute amazement at the immense creativity of the Creator of us all.
Cheers!"

"Tom Blake Trail; October Snowstorm" 72 x 60 in. acrylics on canvas

"I woke up that Monday morning in winter wonderland. I love these end of October snowstorms we get every year. They are mixed with leftovers; from seasons past and the new season coming. I went knee deep onto a hike to capture the beauty of that day so I could paint it, and when I came across this scene I knew this was it. I was so happy in that place. And all I hope is that when you look at it, you can feel the bliss of that moment with me!"
