ISABELLA GARAFFA
"Little Red Belle, Ajax Mountain" is an invitation to pause and appreciate a fleeting moment—one that Isabella Garaffa captured during a skiing outing in Aspen. What began as a small, intimate sketch on an 8 x 8 canvas blossomed into something much larger, both in scale and in meaning. The scene that inspired this work was a simple yet magical one: as Isabella skied with a friend toward Belle Mountain, she was drawn to the striking sight of a red gondola soaring above, framed by the vast blue sky. It was a whimsical moment, one that brought to mind the image of a tiny Christmas bell suspended in the winter air—a symbol of joy and holiday cheer.
This painting invites the viewer into a world where the scene is not just seen, but felt. The red gondola, suspended above the mountainside, doesn’t just belong to the landscape—it becomes part of the rhythm of the sky, the crispness of the air, and the joy of the moment. Through Isabella’s eyes, this simple encounter transforms into something larger, more magical, as though time itself slowed down just to capture the beauty of the moment.
Isabella’s work has a way of captivating the viewer and sparking an immediate connection.
PLEASE BE AWARE....a 30x40 Artwork like this is extremely rare, this painting won’t last long in the gallery—her works have been flying off the walls, often selling within hours. Isabella has consistently broken gallery records, with multiple pieces selling in a single day, and some even before they could be officially released. Her ability to capture the essence of nature and translate it into art has made her one of the most sought-after artists in Aspen.
“Little Red Belle, Ajax Mountain" 30 x 40, acrylics on canvas.
"that will have someone by it within hours......"I did it in a 8 x 8 canvas, but then I was like hmmm... this needs to be bigger! I was skiing with a friend, as we were headed to Belle mountain she pointed up to me and said "look Bella!", so I looked and took some pictures, right at the moment the red gondola was passing us above. I'm not sure how else to describe it, but the whole scene was just .. cute!!! It gave me the impression of a little Christmas red bell hanging on a garland in the blue sky. Since then I have been thinking about painting it, but struggle to find the moment since I had (like always) a thousand other images in my mind that I wanted to paint. Next!
SOON"

Isabella’s style is both detailed and suggestive, offering just enough for the viewer to fill in the rest with their own imagination. In her work, the mountain, the gondola, the sky—they all become a stage for your own senses and memories to take flight. What is the crisp mountain air like? Can you hear the sound of skis gliding on snow? The subtle suggestion of the scene invites you to experience it for yourself, to step into the landscape as an active participant rather than a passive observer.
Isabella Garaffa’s approach to art is rooted in a deep love for nature, especially the wilderness that surrounds her home in Snowmass Village. Her unique perspective, influenced by her upbringing in Paraguay and her years in the mountains, imbues each piece with a sense of nostalgia and reverence for the environment. Through her work, Isabella invites us to see the world with fresh eyes, finding beauty in both the grand and the subtle moments that make life extraordinary.
"Little Red Belle, Ajax Mountain" is best experienced in person, where the true richness of its colors and textures come to life. This is a must-see work when visiting Aspen, a reminder to slow down and savor the enchanting moments that are all around us, just waiting to be noticed.

“When the Road is Closed Go Snowmobiling” 60x 60 in. acrylics on canvas
" I took the original photo for this painting back in 2019, with an old iPhone 11.1 only had one shot of the view. But as I was scrolling through my photo album choosing my next painting, when I came across this I knew right away I had to paint it. I had to. So here it is.
You know what is one of my favorite things when I go out there to explore? Seeing the sign that lets me know I'm in a national forest area. It gives me comfort knowing that all the beauty I'm about to see will be protected for ages to come, and no human development will destroy it. That's a wonderful thing. Leave it the way you found it, right? I think this painting it's an expression of gratitude from my heart for all the forest rangers that take care of all these enchanted areas that we so profoundly cherish. And as always, this is an expression of absolute amazement at the immense creativity of the Creator of us all.
Cheers!"
"Tom Blake Trail; October Snowstorm" 72 x 60 in. acrylics on canvas
"I woke up that Monday morning in winter wonderland. I love these end of October snowstorms we get every year. They are mixed with leftovers; from seasons past and the new season coming. I went knee deep onto a hike to capture the beauty of that day so I could paint it, and when I came across this scene I knew this was it. I was so happy in that place. And all I hope is that when you look at it, you can feel the bliss of that moment with me!"
